I've been thinking about world building. its for an original story. well, several stories- in the same world.
I've been thinking about means of transportation, but i guess before that i should post the timeline. but before
that i should explain it a bit more.
My stories ( i have several) all take place in the same world. its our world-- kinda. but its like an alternate reality. I really like the idea of mutants, AIs and halfbreeds. I guess you can call me a 'soft-core sci fi' fan. But i like fantasy as well. so I decided to merge them~~ into one timeline no less.
First, a list of all my storylines (they're not written out, but I do have the characters figured out. I have a lot)
they are listed in order from most recent in the Timeline to waaaay into the future:
- Mayfly::- A test-tube-baby alraun boy is deemed a failed experiment and is memory wiped and let out 'into the wild'. this triggers a series of events that leads him back to the lab that he was born in. with the help of his 'father' and some other friends, he gets his revenge and lets out all the mutant-humans, destroying the lab for good.
- Butterfly:: A group of three young mutants that escaped from the same lab tries to get out of the City. but the government is closing in on them in the form of a government-controlled AI robot. (RCAI)
- Encrypt:: The RCAI develops it's own personality and breaks free from the government. after living in the streets for months, he encounters Silas, a mechanic's apprentice. he is given the task to deliver an antidote for a new super-virus that has begun to spread.
- Wings:: Years after the virus disappears, a new school is made in honour of the end of the Human-Mutant wars. A group of friends must protect the City from dangerous mutated animals called Hatchers
- HoneyComb:: after the world becomes infertile a new complete virtual world is created (called 'GAEA). Two boys, Fintan and Ari accidentally escape into the real world of Earth and are taken in by a group of female bounty hunters. after discovering that earth is still fertile, they go back to the Pod Complex to free the human race.
- Revera:: (Takes place at the *same time* as HoneyComb in GAEA) a noble's son ,Lestant, is noticing something strange. weird, crazy things keep happening. pens and chairs disappear and no one remembers them. Trees and walls flicker like holograms. no one believes except for a boy from the private school, Deri.
- To Walk On Water:: Fifty years have passed since the Re-population Project lead by Fintan and Ari. A boy with no past, Jarron Zhou gets mixed up in a deadly bet with a wanted rouge-thief Shui and a deadly bounty hunter, Mafia.
- Guardian:: hundreds of years after the Re-population Project, life has started over and reverted back to a medieval-esque way of living. some of the winged beings called Aviators, who have graduated from a special school are assigned to humans and Mutants to protect them. Meanwhile, a young prince, Tobias, runs away from home after his half-brother takes over the throne. He is found by a half-deamon, Julia, and her Guard, Geoffrey in the woods. With the help of Geoffrey's brother Noah, his old friend Jeremey and Tobias' Guard Benjamin, they take down his half-brother and restore peace to the kingdom
- Origins:: (same characters as Guardian) 27 years after the events in Guardian, Julia and Geoffrey's oldest daughter has just turned 15 and has cut her hair for her coming-of-age ceremony. As part of the ceremony, she has to go into the woods and bring back a young buck as proof of her new adulthood. she gets lost and after a few frustrating hours in the cold dark, she encounters a half-elf, Stefan and a werewolf, Johannas. she comes home the next day without her buck but with two secret friends. Meanwhile, Eden's fickle fiance, a prince from the neibouring kingdom, runs away to live life as a commoner but is instead kidnapped and held ransom. Eden, Stefan and Johannas have to bring him back.
Second, the timeline:
2020AD- robot industry booms
2031AD- mutant outbreak caused by pregnant women being exposed to too much chemicals.
- human-mutant war begins [Mayfly starts]
2032AD- first Aviator born [Butterfly starts]
2035AD- human-mutant relations finally at peace. super-virus outbreak [Encrypt starts]
- Wisteria Academy opened for the public [Wings starts]
2055AD- overpopulation, war breaks out, China dissolves and Chinese immigrants are spread across the world.
2065AD- war ends
- world overpopulation, not enough food, all fossil fuels used up
2067AD- droughts, famine, new diseases.
2071AD- scientist finally develop total virtual world (GAEA)

2093AD(20After Earth [AE])- Fintan Cogsley born
2120AD(37AE)- Fintan and Ari escape GAEA [HoneyComb and Revera starts]
2132AD(39AE)- Fintan and Ari return to GAEA, the Re-population Project begins
2297AD(204AE)- earth completely repopulated, mutants evolve, new species discovered, new ethnic groups, halfbreeds born
254AE- [To Walk On Water starts]

176AG- big cities/towns/villages crop up all over the world (everything looks like late-medieval earth with lots of Chinese and mixed Asian influences. 'Magic' is actually psychokinesis and other psyonic powers) [Guardian starts]
203AG- [Halfbreed starts]
whew. i'm done. okay. time to eat
